Can my policy be cancelled if I finish the job early?

Yes, a pro-rata cancellation is offered, which has no penalty for early cancellation.

 

For renovation projects, will you insure me if my company moves a support beam?

No, there are no structural changes allowed.

 

Can I let the new owner move in before we close on the property? Will my insurance still protect me?

The policy details when a construction project is deemed complete. Once a project is put to its intended use, your policy stops providing coverage.

 

If I finish the job, but am not able to sell the property, can I renew my builder’s risk policy?

A builder’s risk policy is designed to cover ONLY properties under construction. Once the work has been completed, you’ll need an unsold dwelling policy to protect you until the property is sold.

 

Does the builder’s risk policy provide liability coverage for my construction project?

No.
